Marshmallow Party Idea – A fun game day marshmallow pop that is fun, affordable and quick to make. No fuss needed.
Tasty – The marshmallow with the coconut and chocolate pair so well together. It is such an easy but delicious chocolate dipped marshmallow with coconut.
Ingredients Needed For This Recipe
- Marshmallows – I find full size marshmallows work great. Or you could even do jumbo or special flavored marshmallows.
- Chocolate – You will want a milk or dark chocolate then a white chocolate for the football lace.
- Coconut and Food coloring – Green food coloring and coconut come together to look like grass on the field. A fun and tasty twist.
How to Make
Step 1: Start by adding your coconut in a bowl and add in some green food coloring. Stir well coating all the coconut to make it look like green grass. Once mixed set aside.
Step 2: In a microwave safe bowl heat up your almond bark and mix every 20-25 seconds. Mix until fully melted.
Step 3: Place the marshmallows on sticks, pressing in to secure them on. Then take your stick and dip all the way in the chocolate coating up to the top of marshmallow. Shake off excess chocolate.
Step 4: Dip the wet chocolate dipped marshmallow in the green coconut on the bottom. Then place on a wax paper lined counter or baking sheet.
Step 5: Melt your white chocolate and then pipe on the football laces to the dried chocolate. Just draw a straight line down the center of the marshmallow. Then make horizontal lines 2-4 lines.
Once dry serve and enjoy these dipped marshmallows!
Variations and Swaps
- Use any color of candy melts to mimic your favorite sports teams if you want. Have fun with the colors of chocolate you use.
- Feel free to add on some sports themed sprinkles, or any sprinkles of choice.
- Dip marshmallows in caramel and then follow up by dipping in chocolate next.
- Etc.
Storage
You will want to allow the chocolate to set up fully then place in a container or bag. That way you make sure it is airtight to prevent the marshmallows from drying out.
Once the marshmallows are set up they can be stored at room temperature for around a week. After that they will begin to not taste as great.
Pro Tips For Making
- I used cake pop sticks but you could also use paper straws that are colored for dipping in the chocolate if you want.
- Make sure that you do short heat cycles of almond bark and stir between each cycle. That way it does not burn.
- Coat the whole marshmallow in the chocolate. I even got a little chocolate on the stick. This helps to make sure it doesn’t fall off.
- When dipping in the coconut you want the bottom and a little of the sides to be coated. Roll it a bit in the coconut.
- Wax paper is a great way to sit your dipped marshmallows on to let it sit up, without sticking.
