Ingredients Needed
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough – I bought a package of cookie dough at the store, and used that for the cookie cups.
Frosting and Food Coloring – Use your favorite vanilla frosting and then add in some green food coloring. I used store bought buttercream.
White Chocolate – You will melt down candy melts or white chocolate wafers and use to pipe your football goals. Or you can use chocolate chips and then add shortening with it to help the chocolate harden.
Almond – I used an almond to mimic a football, but this is optional.
Sprinkles – Consider grabbing festive team colored sprinkles to add on top your frosting.
Substitutions
Here are a few changes you can make to this cookie cups with frosting recipe.
- Use any flavor of cookie dough you want. Sugar cookie, peanut butter, etc.
- Grab pretzel sticks and break and glue with white chocolate to make field goal if you don’t want to do white chocolate.
- Use a tootsie roll and shape into a football to place on top of the cookie cups. A cute football dessert that you can customize.
- Skip the football on the top of these football treats.
How to Make
Step 1: First thing is preheat the oven and grease your mini muffin tin. Then take your chocolate chip cookie dough and press into each cup, leaving a hollow area in the centers.
Step 2: Bake the cookies for 8-11 minutes or until the cookies are cooked all the way through. Then let cool on a cooling rack. Don’t overbake or they will dry out.
Step 3: Melt up your white chocolate and place in a bottle or piping bag. Create your football goals with white chocolate. I have a video showing how I did the shape.
Step 4: Take your frosting and add in some green food coloring. I used store bought and just mixed it in the container. Then poured the frosting into a piping bag, and used a Wilton 233 tip.
Step 5: Pipe the frosting on all the cookie cups, and then take your white chocolate goal post and place in the back center of each cup.
Step 6: Place an almond in the center to mimic a football, and then add sprinkles if you want to match your favorites football teams.
Storage
You will want to store your cookie cups in an airtight container on the counter. The cookies will store for 2-3 days, before they begin to dry out.
These chocolate chip cookies will freeze for 2-3 months. When you want to eat some just thaw on the counter to thaw.

Ingredients
- 1 16.5 ounce package chocolate chip cookie dough, or make homemade
- 1 can of buttercream frosting 12 ounce jar
- 3-4 drops green food coloring
- 1/2 cup white chocolate candy melts
- 24 almonds
- Sprinkles optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then grease your mini muffin tin and set aside.
- Next you will take your raw cookie dough and place in each muffin tin. Press it down a bit leaving the center dipped in a bit.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until the cookie cups are baked all the way through. Place on cooling rack to cool.
- Now melt your white chocolate and place in a squeeze bottle or piping bag. Then make a goal post for each cookie cup. A total of 24 needed.
- Then add food coloring to your tub of frosting, then place the frosting in a piping bag with a 233 grass Wilton tip.
- Once the cookie cups are fully cooled pipe with frosting. Then place the hardened white goal post in the center back of each cup. Be gentle as the chocolate is fragile.
- Then place the almond on the cup to mimic a football, and then add some sprinkles if you want.
- Serve and enjoy these football cookie cups.
