🌶️ Optional Filling Ideas
Meats | Go wild and add in other meats besides ham, or swap it out altogether. Pepperoni, dried beef, salami, and deli turkey would all be pretty tasty options.
Just dice up whichever meat you choose before adding it to the dip. Transforming to a dried beef dip would be delicious.
Vegetables | Chopped bell peppers, black olives, minced garlic, celery, and pimentos are great additions.
It’s a good idea to make sure whatever you add in is bite-sized or smaller, so it’s easier to eat.
Cheese | Add some fun flavor and extra flair by mixing in some shredded cheese. Any variety would work well, and it’s a unique spin that happens to taste great too.
Cheddar, Colby Jack, or Pepper Jack would all add some incredible flavor. I recommend adding 1/4 – 1/2 cup.
Herbs | Fresh herbs are a lovely way to change the way the dip tastes and give it a bit of added color. Chopped dill, parsley, or oregano would be fantastic choices.
Sure! Either dill or sweet pickles taste great with the other ingredients. For another interesting idea, try out some bread and butter pickles or spicy pickles too.
You need to keep the dip in an airtight container when you aren’t serving it. It will stay fresh in the fridge for 3-5 days.
If you are hosting a party, it’s best to keep the dill pickle dip on ice if it’s going to sit out longer than 2 hours.
You can use any brand of pickles that you want for this dip recipe. I recommend using pickles that you love, and you can’t go wrong.
If stored properly you can expect the cold dip recipe to last for up to 3-4 days in the fridge.
