Chocolate peanut butter protein balls are my favorite go-to snack for a mid-day pick me up. I used old fashioned oats, peanut butter, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder and more to create these melt in your mouth protein balls. This protein ball recipe is so easy and a great option to make on a Sunday and snack on through the week.
Do you suffer from that 2 p.m. slump like so many of us do? Well this peanut butter protein balls recipe is so simple to throw together, and instead of dragging you down, it gives you a boost to make it till dinner. I used my favorite Vegan Naked Nutrition Chocolate Protein Powder. This powder is great for making shakes but also a perfect pair for this protein ball.

This Protein Balls Recipe Is…
- Made with wholesome ingredients
- Boost of energy
- No bake protein balls
- Healthy snacking
- Healthy protein
- Freezer friendly
Ingredients Needed
Protein Powder – So I used the Chocolate Naked Shake for these balls. It is a pea protein that has added MCT oil, and is plant-based. It offers 20 grams of protein and just 4 grams of sugar. The flavor is phenomenal and offers that great boost of energy. They have tons of flavors to choose from and products but the chocolate is my all-time favorite.
Old Fashioned Oats – This is going to give you some fiber but also a nice chewy texture to the power balls. It is going to help add nice texture.
Cocoa Powder – Add just a bit more chocolate flavor into these balls. I find with the cocoa powder and the protein powder you will get a tasty no bake cookie flavor to these balls.
Peanut Butter – Now if you do not want to use peanut butter reach for a nut butter like a sunflower butter or almond butter. You might have to add more oats though to balance out the texture. Nut butters are a bit runny compared to peanut butter.
Vanilla – A splash of vanilla extract really sweetens up these balls!
Honey – Now if you want this to be a vegan protein ball reach for maple syrup in replace of the honey.
Chocolate Chips – I used mini chocolate chips that helps to sweeten up the balls without taking over the flavor of the balls.
Cookie Scoop – This is going to give you an even size of protein balls. You don’t have to use a cookie scooper but I do recommend it.

Storing
Refrigerate – You will want to keep these balls in the fridge in an airtight container or sealed bag. The balls will store for about 7 days in the fridge. I like to place them in bags with a serving or two for a grab and go snack as I head out the door.
Freezing – You can also freeze the protein balls. Just place in a freezer bag or container and freeze for 2-3 months. Let thaw on the counter for 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
