BLT Dip
Dips are something I love to make, and this one is a fan favorite. Cream cheese and mayonnaise combine with a handful of seasonings to bring you the creamiest dip you have ever had. Then you have the aspect of the salty bacon, crunchy lettuce, and fresh tomatoes and green onions to really throw this dip into a whole new level of amazing.
This cold BLT dip recipe is also great to pack up and take for potlucks. I have made this recipe for years, and everyone asks for the recipe.
Cold Dip Recipe
A love a good layered dip and this BLT layered dip gives you a blend of each ingredient in every single bite.
You could even use single serve cups to create the layered BLT dip in, for serving a large crowd. Every person could grab a little cup, some chips or toasted baguettes and be on their way. I have done that for birthday parties in the past, and it was a nice way of serving it.
What Does BLT Stand For
BLT Stands for bacon, lettuce, tomato. Most of the time BLT’s are served on toasted bread with mayonnaise on top. You will get the layers of salty from the bacon, crisp from lettuce, and juicy from the tomato. BLT is one of the most popular sandwiches.
What is the Difference Between Iceberg and Romaine Lettuce
You won’t see much difference between iceberg or romaine lettuce. Romaine offers more nutrients than iceberg and has a darker consistency.
For the lettuce for the BLT dip, I recommend iceberg or romaine lettuce. Both are a bit heartier and will not wilt like other varieties. I have just found the best success with these two blends, and sometimes I mix the two together. It just depends what I have on hand or what is on sale at the store.
What Can I Substitute For Mayonnaise In This BLT Dip Recipe
If you don’t want to use mayonnaise you can reach for either sour cream or Greek plain yogurt. It will slightly affect the flavor but very little, and you will still get that silky creamy base to the bacon lettuce tomato dip.

You can store this dip in the fridge for 2-3 days. The main thing is to watch the lettuce to ensure it is not wilting at all. You will also find your green onions and tomatoes can affect the texture of the dip as they break down a bit. This dip is best served fresh but can store for a few days.
