This hot fruit salad is a vintage recipe that has been around for so long. Slow cooker hot fruit salad is canned peaches, pineapple, cherry pie filling, applesauce and more all slow cooked in the slow cooker. This fruit salad is bursting with warm cinnamon spice and flavor.
You can serve this up at a holiday meal or a special occasion. Personally we love to make this when the weather gets chilly. It is like a warm fruit cocktail all cooked and bursting with flavor. Applesauce – You can use any of your favorite brands of applesauce. Chunky applesauce, cinnamon applesauce, etc.
Cherry Pie Filling – The pie filling is one of my favorite parts of this salad. It offers tons of flavor to the salad.
Pineapple Chunks – The pineapple chunks are great in this salad as it is going to add a nice tang flavor to it.
Peaches – Reach for a can of sliced peaches for this salad. If you buy halved peaches, then slice into smaller pieces.
Mandarin Oranges – I tossed in a small can of mandarin oranges it offers a great citrus flavor.
Brown Sugar – Sweeten up the fruit salad with some brown sugar. I used a light brown sugar.
Cinnamon Stick – I tossed one cinnamon stick into the slow cooker. If you don’t have a cinnamon stick you can add in a teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

Step One: Toss all the ingredients into the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
Step Two: Turn the slow cooker to low and cook as directed.
Step Three: Remove the cinnamon stick and serve this salad warm or refrigerate to cool down.
How to Cook In The Oven
Assemble all the ingredients in a bowl and pour into a baking dish. Then you will cook at 275 degrees F. Let it slow cook and stir every 20 minutes. Once the fruit breaks down a bit, you can remove and serve. This took around an hour or so. I recommend using ground cinnamon instead of a cinnamon stick.

- 1 25 ounce jar of applesauce
- 1 21 ounce can of cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 20 ounce can pineapple chunks
