Breakfast Chimichanga Tips
- Be sure to flip the tortilla in the air fryer. This is essential to getting the entire chimichanga crispy.
- Do not overstuff the egg mixture; your chimichangas may break open as they cook.
- Use toothpicks to poke into the edge of the flour tortillas to help ensure the shell holds in place as it is air-fried.
- When folding the tortilla, fold so that the seams are closed. If not, the mixture will leak out, causing a mess.
- Adding more ingredients like diced onions or fresh cilantro is a fast and straightforward way to boost the flavor.
- Don’t forget the toppings! This is where each person can make their chimichanga taste unique and different.
How do I store leftover chimichangas?
If your eyes are bigger than your belly and you have leftovers, rejoice! You can enjoy this flavor and taste again.
To store, let the cooked chimichanga cool and add it to an airtight container. Please place it in your fridge, and plan on eating it within two days.
To restore some of that crispiness, you can add the chimichanga back to the air fryer for a couple of minutes to reheat and cook it!
