Ingredients
Vanilla Pudding – I used boxed vanilla pudding for this recipe to make it crazy simple. You are more than welcome to use any flavor or make homemade pudding.
Milk – I used Lactaid, but any milk or milk replacement works.
Nilla Wafers – I bought single serve packages of Nilla Wafers for this recipe.
Bananas – Slice and top with fresh bananas! So delicious and easy.
Variations to Recipe
- Top with a maraschino cherry
- Add in other fruit if you want – strawberries, blueberries, etc.
- Use a Cool Whip or whipped cream to add a dollop to each Nilla Wafer bag.
- Change up the cookies and use Golden Oreos or Animal crackers in replace of the cookies.
- Make homemade banana pudding instead of instant pudding mix if you prefer.
- Drizzle in caramel, chocolate sauce, chopped nuts, etc.
How to Make
Full steps for this recipe are in the printable recipe card. This is a quick walk-through.
Step One: Make your pudding as directed on the package and then set it up fully in the fridge.
Step Two: Grab your single-serve bags of Nilla wafer cookies. Open them up and then add some of the pudding into each bag of cookies. I did around three tablespoons each.
Step Three: Slice up a banana and then place 4-6 pieces of banana in each of the bags.
Serve and enjoy this walking taco dessert!
Recipe Notes:
Allow your pudding to be fully set up so it isn’t runny when you put it in the bags of cookies.
The Nilla wafer cookies will get soggy as it sits with the banana pudding. So make these pudding desserts right before you plan to serve it.
Leave items in their containers and let your family or friends make their walking tacos.
Do not assemble until ready to serve, as the pudding can soften up the cookies.
If you are camping or tailgating, reach for disposable spoons for an easy-to-throw-away dessert. It makes for easy cleanup.
