Oreo Banana Bread is a banana bread studded with Oreos in each bite. Then the bread is topped with an Oreo glaze that will elevate this quick bread recipe even more.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat together the butter, oil and 3/4 cup of the white sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the bananas and egg, then the dry ingredients, followed by the milk.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 50-55 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Allow banana bread to cool completely before preparing the vanilla glaze. Remove from loaf pan and set on a cooling rack or cutting board.
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered icing sugar, milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
Pour the glaze over the cooled banana bread and then immediately sprinkle the crushed OREOs over top.
Allow glaze to set for 30 minutes before storing or serving.
Notes
Ripe Bananas - Make sure to use ripe bananas for this recipe. They need to be brown speckled bananas. Oreos - Any flavor of Oreos work, or even Double Stuffed Oreos if you prefer that.
