Shrimp Salad

This shrimp salad is a classic shrimp salad recipe made with a mayonnaise based sauce, crisp celery and red onions. Simple ingredients with a big payout. Eat plain, pile on a lettuce wrap, serve as a sandwich, and more.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound small shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup celery diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely diced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice (I used 1 lemon)
  • 1 teaspoon spicy mustard
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon dill freeze dried, fresh, or dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • In a bowl add your mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, dill, and salt and pepper. Mix well until creamy and fully combined.
  • Add in your peeled and deveined cold cooked shrimp, red onion, and celery.
  • Mix well folding ingredients together. Then serve up this shrimp salad on crackers, lettuce leaves or make sandwiches.

Notes

Shrimp - I used small shrimp, but if you want you can use large or even jumbo. If you do just cut up the shrimp into smaller pieces. 
Sauce - You can add a little cayenne or even red pepper flakes or Creole seasoning to add spice to the sauce. 
Mix in - Add in hard boiled eggs, fresh veggies, etc. I share a ton of ways to change up the recipe a bit if you want something a little different.
