Instant Pot Italian Beef - Keto Friendly

Instant Pot Italian Beef is tasty to eat alone or pile on a hearty hoagie bun and make an Italian beef sandwich. If you have a beef roast and looking for an Instant Pot roast recipe, you need to try this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 5 lb roast
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar if keto use sweetener or leave it out
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Pinch celery salt
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup pepperoncini peppers with juice

Instructions

  • Season your roast with the mix of spices, and then make sure to pat it on well.
  • Put oil in the Instant Pot and then saute to brown on all sides. It will take around 2 minutes for each side.
  • Once your roast is browned you will then add in your broth and peppers to the mix. Make sure to scrape the bottom of your IP to remove any stuck on meat or seasoning so you don't get burn notice.
  • Now cook your roast for 60 minutes on manual high pressure. Then natural release for at least 20 minutes before you finish removing any steam leftover.
  • Shred meat and then serve.

Instant Pot Italian Beef Freezer Meal 

  1. Add your pot roast in a sealable bag. 
  2. Add in your pepperoncini peppers, sugar, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, onion powder, salt and pepper in bag. 
  3. Place in freezer for up to three months. 

How To Cook Frozen Italian Beef Roast in Pressure Cooker 

  1. Place the roast and contents in the Instant Pot. 
  2. Pour in 3 cups of beef broth. Seal the instant pot lid, and do 60 minutes. 
  3. Allow your pressure cooker to fully naturally release this will take around 30 minutes. 
  4. When done open lid and shred the meat. 
  5. Use the sauce for dipping if you would like.
