Instructions
First, you want to wash and prep your string beans. You will cut or break off the ends of your fresh green beans. If you want smaller pieces of beans cut them in half.
Then bring a large pot of water to a boil, and add around a teaspoon of salt to the water. Toss in your prepped green beans.
Cook the beans for 2-3 minutes, and then drain them, and rinse with cold water. I then just leave them to sit in the strainer.
While beans are cooking I add my butter and oil to a pan on the stove and let the butter melt down.
Once pan is hot and butter is melted toss in your slivered almonds, and toast them. You will flip them here and there, you want them to get a golden color. This takes 2-4 minutes long.
When your slivered almonds are toasted toss in your drained green beans, and mix the beans with the almonds.
Remove from heat, squeeze on fresh lemon juice to taste and salt as well for flavor.
This green bean almondine recipe is so easy to make and is an incredible side dish any day of the week, or for holiday entertaining.
