  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 6 Mini Chip Ahoy Cookies

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 4 drops Sky blue food coloing
  • 1 package candy edilbe eyes

Instructions

How to Make Vanilla Donuts

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease your cupcake pan.
  • In a bowl you will add your flour, nutmeg, sugar, and baking powder and salt. Mix well to combine and set aside.
  • Then in a large bowl add your egg, milk, vanilla, and oil. Mix well to incorporate the ingredients.
  • Add in the dry ingredients and once mixed and lumps are gone. Pour into a piping bag.
  • Pipe 3/4 way full in each of the donut pan cavity. Then bake for 10-12 minutes or until donuts are done.
  • When you remove flip the pan upside down on a cooling rack and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then lift the pan up to release the donuts.
  • Let the donuts fully cool before frosting.

How to Make Frosting

  • In a stand mixer beat your softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and heavy cream on medium speed.
  • You want to form stiff peaks. Once it does add in the sky blue food coloring and mix to incorporate.
  • Pour the frosting in a piping bag with a large star tip.

Decorate Donuts

  • Take your cooled donuts and place on a parchment lined tray. One at a time you will begin to pipe on the blue frosting. It is okay if it is a little messy as it mimics his hair.
  • Place two eyes in the center above the donut hole center.
  • Then at the bottom place half of a cookie in the mouth of the donut. To look like he is eating a cookie. If you want you can do a whole cookie depending on the size.

Notes

Donuts - You can make any of your favorite donut flavors. I did just a classic vanilla donut.
Frosting - If you don't want to use frosting you can make a blue donut glaze to dip the donuts in. It won't hold the cookie the way you want, as the frosting is nice and stiff.
Store - Store donuts in a covered dish for 1-2 days. These are best eaten fresh.
