Try out this Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake! It is a quick and easy dessert that is made by layering canned cherries and crushed pineapples with a cake mix and butter. Perfect for any occasion, this sweet and fruity dessert is sure to be a crowd-pleaser!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then grease your 9x13 pan with cooking spray.
Pour the canned pineapple with juice and cherry pie filling into the baking dish. Mix to combine the two with a spatula.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix all over the top of the fruit, spreading into an even layer.
Melt your butter in the microwave. Then carefully pour the butter all over the cake. Use a spatula to make sure to spread the butter all over the dry cake mix. That is very important to do.
Bake for 45-55 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cake portion is baked through and not wet batter. Once done remove and serve warm.
Notes
Cake Mix - You can use any flavor of cake you would like. The white or yellow cake would both be a great swap. Fruit - You can use other types of fruit if you want. If you are going to use peaches that would be tasty. You could dice it up and pour it into the pan with a cherry pie filling. Butter - I find that using unsalted butter is going to be best for this recipe. Salted butter is going to create a saltier flavor for the dessert. So just be aware of that. Margarine doesn't work the way butter does. Storing - I recommend adding to a sealed container and storing in the fridge for up to 3-5 days.
