Pour your wine and brandy into the Instant Pot. Add in your cinnamon sticks, star anise, whole cloves, brown sugar, apple, orange, and lemon.
Stir and then place the lid on the pressure cooker making sure the valve is set to sealing.
Cook for 1 minute on high pressure. Once the timer goes off, do a quick release of pressure.
Open the lid, stir, and then drain through a fine-mesh sieve if you would like to not have fruit in the drink. Or serve with the fruit and spices.
Give the mulled wine a stir and serve it up warm, and garnish with cinnamon sticks, fresh fruit, etc.
Notes
To cook on the stove you will add all your ingredients into a saucepan. Then heat on medium-low, and once it begins to simmer, turn the heat down a bit. Let the warm wine mixture simmer for 15 minutes up to 3 hours before you serve. The longer it cooks the more flavor. Use any of your favorite red wine or even white wine. The apple slices taste amazing, you might enjoy nibbling on them once done. Store leftover mulled wine in the fridge for up to three days. Swap the Brandy with bourbon or another type of liquor. Just ensure you can use that brand of liquor in the Instant Pot. You can use a mulling spices mix if you want to swap out with what I added into the hot drink.
