  • 2 15 ounce cans of pitted sweet cherries in heavy syrup
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 6 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • Place your canned cherries, dried cherries, granulated sugar, orange juice, and almond extract in crockpot.
  • Stir and then cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
  • In a small bowl mix the cold water and cornstarch together and stir into the cherries jubilee. Then switch it to high for another 30 minutes.
  • Once the sauce is thickened, serve over brownies, pound cake, ice cream, etc.

Notes

Frozen or Fresh Cherries - You can use fresh or frozen cherries if you would like in replace of the canned cherries.
Alcohol - At the end of cooking you can add in rum or brandy to the cherry mixture at the very end of cooking. Then if you want to light it to flame, make sure to transfer to a skillet.
Storing - Store your leftover cherries jubilee in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.
